During our performances we display a variety of memorabilia. Favorites include scrapbooks containing pictures of automobiles, move stars, baseball players, government posters and advertisements from the 30's and 40's. A few of my favorite items include a woman's train case and a nurse's watch worn on the battlefield during W.W. II which in the shape of a soldiers helmet. To many, these items are simply artifacts however, when I touch a pair of W.W. II bomber pilots leather mittens and realize where they have been, I am in awe. Each item is unique and special and we display it with pride and reverence. The items represent people who lived during a monumental time in our history. Most items have been purchased from Ebay however many individuals have donated items when they hear about our cause. One special man donated a purple heart saying it truly belonged to all VETERANS who served our country. One wonderful woman donated a huge collection of jewelry to wear with our costumes. Other donations range from taped music to post cards to love letters. This ministry has truly renewed my belief in people as I have seen compassion and a desire to bring honor to those from a disappearing era.
